I’ve dodged mines and even gutted fish on my path to becoming PR Manager for ITV Online.

I studied ‘the media’ at Westminster University and inspired by the likes of John Pilger and Martin Bell I opted for a career in journalism, starting with the Daily Echo in Southampton. The novelty of council meetings soon wore off and I took my first PR job with Comic Relief. That led to the BBC and then the Science Museum where I courted the media with my effortless ability to resort to the Lowest Common Denominator. I also had fun with this and joined forces with the Sun newspaper for this. Hiring ‘Mr Methane’ for a performance next to the museum restaurant was a low ebb and I jumped before I was pushed - straight into the arms the UK’s largest commercial broadcaster ITV.

In my spare time I set up meandmybicycle, a social network for cyclists which you can read about on the Guardian website here. I also interview famous people on the Web at Web Famous.

A keen cyclist, wannabe drummer and occasional oil painter, I live in Twickenham, London with my partner Nicola.
