		<description>Thanks for the comment Becky. Old style PR is already being exposed as a bit shaky and I've seen many instances where the old approach doesn't cut it. You are right, the skill set needed by PR people has certainly grown and yours is as good a list as I have seen!</description>

As the lines of communication continue to be opened up and fans/customers engage directly with people/products, old style PR alone is in danger of becoming obsolete.  As celebrities continue to embrace platforms like Twitter to engage directly with their audiences, mistakes will be made. The new role of PR is indeed gatekeeper but also educator, brainstormer, content creator, blogger, editor, event organiser, crisis manager, trainer, technology tester and trusted advisor.</description>
